Southport-born author-illustrator Andrew Tinsley launches his debut children's picture book, Origin of the Foxtrot.

The launch took place on Saturday 24th October at The Magpie's Tale in Churchtown, with a reading of the story followed by a book-signing.

Andrew was thrilled to be launching his book at this wonderful independent bookshop in the village where he grew up.

'Foxy always dreams of being famous one day. He learns of a school talent show, which could take him to stardom! He soon realises that he has no talent...or does he? He's presented with an old pair of shoes to help him dance...will he be alright on the night?'

The concept for Origin of the Foxtrot began during the COVID pandemic. During this difficult period of time, working from home and adjusting to life as a new father, Andrew leaned on his creative side as an outlet. He was keen to create something he could read and share with his children.

Having enjoyed bringing Foxy's story to life, Andrew is already developing new stories and hopes to create more books for young readers in the future.
